Online Counselling

Counselling, from the comfort of your own home.

Imagine being able to access counselling from your couch, or your home office, or anywhere else.  Not only do people find it way more manageable than in person counselling, research also shows that it is just as effective!

Sessions don't have to take a break if you travel a lot.  And when you're open to online counselling your choices of Counsellors or Psychotherapist is greatly expanded, meaning you can find the perfect fit.

Do you struggle to feel safe?  Feeling like you're just waiting for the other shoe to drop?  You're tired of repeating the same patterns in your relationships?

Maybe this has been happening for a really long time, and you just don't know how to make sense of it.  You are doing your best, but it's just not working.  You're feeling tired of it being this way, tired of this being your reality, and you're ready for things to finally be different.

Imagine if you could live a life where you had the energy to get through each day.  Where you were able to handle the day-to-day stress of life without getting completely thrown off balance.  I am going to help you feel more empowered and connected to your body, so you can finally understand what it has been trying to tell you.

When working with clients, I work to create a safe space where they are truly heard, validated, and understood on all levels.

My work is based on several modalities, focused on, but not limited to:

Somatic Experiencing: a body-based psychotherapy that supports the processing of traumatic events by bringing awareness to body sensations.  Somatic Experiencing is quickly becoming known as one of the most effect ways to deal with trauma.

Attachment Theory: an approach of looking at how our early dynamics with our caregivers (usually mom and dad) impact how we relate to our family and others throughout our lives, including in romantic relationships.

Early Developmental Trauma: an approach aimed to support healing of early trauma that happened at a very young age, including ages before cognitive memories.  Trauma (including medical, abuse, abandonment, and more) at early stages can impact our physical, emotional, and mental development, leading to problems such as digestive disorders, anxiety, and depression in later years.

My mission is to support my clients from a holistic perspective, so that the issues are addressed from every angle.  This includes development of self-care and mindful routines outside of the counselling room, an in-depth exploration of stored emotions, sensations, and memories in one-on-one sessions so they can finally be processed and released in healthy ways, and nutritional guidance so your body receives the nurturing it needs as well.

Please note that my services are covered under most extended benefits plans, and I am able to provide counselling for ICBC and CVAP claims (co-pay may be required).  I am registered with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).  Please confirm that your insurance provider covers Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) if you intend to use benefits.
